Danny Boy's Team Danny Boy's TeamTeam Organizer: Kerry Ennis

This year's walk is especially important to me as I am honored to be the recipient of the 2015 Linda Nadle Community Service Award. I will be walking in memory and honor of my brother, Daniel Casey Ennis (our "Danny Boy") who we lost on May 13, 1993, 22 years and not a day goes by that he is not in our hearts and on our minds. I will walk to honor family members and friends and all of those we have lost to suicide, and those struggling.

Please join me in my efforts to raise funds and awareness for the Long Island Crisis Center.

I hope you will consider joining and or supporting the walk on September 20 or making any type of donation.

Thank you all for your support! xo

Long Island Crisis Center saves lives. When the phone rings at LICC - any time, any day - people in crisis are greeted by a real person and everyone who calls gets the same compassionate response from high-trained counselors. Whether the callers are kids being bullied, senior citizens alone and afraid, veterans struggling to readjust, LGBT youth, young Latinas, or anyone else in crisis - LICC is there 24/7.

Heroes For Angelo Heroes For AngeloTeam Organizer: Virginia Cervasio

January 17, 2006, was the day that our lives changed forever. Our son, Angelo, died by suicide at the age of 24. He believed in serving his country and serving his community by defending our freedom while in the US Air Force.

22 Veterans per day take their life…we can reduce this number by raising funds for programs to let everyone know that they are not alone.

We will be walking in memory of all lives lost to suicide, for anyone who is fighting mental illness, for the survivors left behind…We will be walking in memory of our son Angelo.

I've been a hotline counselor for over six years and have seen how much the Long Island Crisis Center helps people in need. People need to know about the agency and the fact that there is help out there. I would like to help raise awareness for the cause.

One call can make a difference and save a life!

I have been volunteering for LICC for a few years and I truly believe this. If someone is angry, upset, or depressed. Just one call with one counselor can save a life!

My dream is that one day suicide will no longer be a choice that someone is willing to make.

Please show your support!

Ida was a kind, caring, generous woman. She left this earth too soon. Depression can kill. If we can save just one life by walking, then it is time well spent.

We are a sorority on campus at Iona college. I am the corresponding secretary for my sorority and I have participated in one of your walks before, and was completely moved. I am a psychology major and am very interested in the topic of suicide and helping others through hard times. That is what I hope to do one day, assist struggling teens in detrimental times. So, I was hoping to bring this walk to the attention of my peers here at Iona. We hope to participate in this walk, bring attention to all of our friends and family, and donate as much as we can for this cause.

Two years ago my daughter tried to commit suicide. I thank God every day she is still with us, I know how hard it is for her dealing with depression. This is just a small way of supporting her.

Unfortunately, over the years, we have seen an increase in mental illness and suicide. With an increase in these tragic events should come an increase in awareness and the knowledge available to us to make a difference. Whether you personally deal with/have dealt with, know someone who has been effected, or just want to be better informed, you can help to improve someone's life. With your help and contribution we can work together to bring these issues into the light and get people talking to help save lives in the future. Thank you so much for your generosity.
